DINOSAURS

We all know for a fact that Dinosaurs existed. No one questions that.
Does God mention them in the Bible?
Does He mention what happened to them?

Why did the dinosaurs disappear?
This is something that has modern science mystified.
Perhaps the Bible can shed some light on this....

In The Book of Job:
God Himself is speaking:

"Behold now the behemoth, which I made with thee;
he eats grass as an ox.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins,
and his force is in the navel of his belly.
He moves his tail like a cedar:
the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass;
his bones are like bars of iron.
He is the chief of the ways of God:
he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food,
where all the beasts of the field play.
He lies under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
The shady trees cover him with their shadow;
the willows of the brook compass him about.
Behold, he drinks up a river, and hastens not:
he trusts that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
He takes it with his eyes: his nose pierces through snares
.
(Job 40:15-24).

In other words:
This was the Largest of all land creatures God made.
He made the creatures with man (around the same time)
It was plant-eating (herbivorous).
It had its strength in its hips.
Its tail was like a large tree (a cedar).
It had very strong bones.
Its habitat was on ground with the trees & shrubs.
It drank massive amounts of water.
His nose pierced through snares. (nothing could capture it)

Then Scripture says,
" . . . He that made him can make his sword approach to him."
In other words, God created this creature and only He can approach this creature, only He controls this creatures' destiny.

WHAT DOES SCIENCE SAY?

In the Miriam Webster's Dictionary the word Dinosaur came from
the Greek word 'deinos' which means terrifying
and the Greek word 'sauros' which means lizard

It goes onto define the word Dinosaur as:
"any of a group of extinct long-tailed Mesozoic reptiles often of huge size."

Therefore according to man: a 'Dinosaur' is an entire species of terrifying lizards who have died out & no longer exist. To take it literally.

The large Kimodo Dragon exists today

Archeologists and evolutionary scientists say in school books, in encyclopedia's, in documentary's, articles and so on:
Dinosaurs are hundreds of thousands of years old,
or millions of years old,
or billions,
or I once heard a documentary say
they are trillions of years old.
They all say something different - why?
The truth is they are guessing and therefore they don't know the truth.
What they say is not fact.
Carbon dating has proven to be inaccurate and completely unreliable.
Evolutionary scientists and archeologists
fill in the blanks by their own imagination
and they leave the Bible and the Words of the Creator
out of their conclusions.

WHAT DOES GOD CALL THE DINOSAUR?

What does God call the Brontosaurus or the Triceratops?
In the Bible God calls them all creatures, beasts, or cattle.
He uses the word 'cattle' to refer to any species that lives in a group.

In Job, God describes the largest of creatures and calls them the 'behemoth'.

HOW OLD ARE THE DINOSAURS?

God himself says:
every creature, was created during the 6 days of creation.

"Behold now the behemoth, which I made with thee;"

Behemoth's are as old as Adam and no older.

According to the Bible - man was created approximately 6,000 years ago.
Therefore, the behemoth is no more than 6,000 years old.

DID MAN AND DINOSAURS WALK
THE EARTH AT THE SAME TIME?

Job was a descendant of Abraham.
It is speculated by scholars that Moses received
the story of Job from Job's descendants and documented it
by God's own instruction.

Job lived pre-flood in the town of Uz, located in Hauran,
a region east of the Sea of Galilee.

God used the behemoth to make a point to Job,
that even the largest and most daunting of all creatures
completely untamable by man,
is in God's complete control as it is His creation.
God was proving a point that even the largest of things
are in God's control.

Furthermore, God did not use past tense such as: 'which once roamed',
God's phrasing is:
'he eats...", 'he moves...", "he roams...". All present tense.
The behemoth lived in Job's time.

Proof that 'Dinosaurs' and man existed together.

GOD'S INSTRUCTIONS TO NOAH WERE CLEAR:

Consider that Noah was instructed to take 2 of
every bird of the air and of every creature of the earth.

God said to Noah,
"two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark,
to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
"
Genesis 6:19

"Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens,
the male and his female:
and of beasts that are not clean by two,
the male and his female.
Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female;
to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth."

Genesis 7:2-3

**Interesting Note....
Surprised by the 'sevens'?
Wait a minute, I thought Noah was only instructed
to take 2 of every creature?
God also instructed Noah to take seven of selected 'clean' animal species.
These were for Noah to sacrifice to the Lord once back on dry land.
He also instructed Noah to bring all the food and supplies necessary
in order to sustain all of them. For the meat eating
animals, that would lead us to conclude that there were even more animals
brought aboard the ark which would be food as well.

The Bible explains clearly that EVERY creature was sent to Noah for preservation:

"They and every beast after his kind,
and all the cattle after their kind,
and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind,
and every foul after his kind, every bird of every sort.
And they went in unto Noah into the ark.
Two and two of all flesh
,
wherein is the breath of life.
And they went in male and female of all flesh,
as God has commanded him: and the Lord shut him in
."
Genesis 7:14-17

Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind,
of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind,
two of every sort shall come unto thee,
to keep them alive.

Genesis 7:20-21

THE GREAT FLOOD

The ark was higher than a 4 story building and
longer than 1 and a half football fields
(450 feet long - 75 feet wide - 45 feet high)
with 3 levels divided into compartments
and a window running around the top.

God instructed Noah to construct the ark quite specifically
therefore, we know that the ark was perfect and adequate to do the job
in which God had intended it for.

When the ark was back on dry land,
The Bible says that Noah removed the covering off of the ark
as soon as they settled on land.
(Probably for fresh air and more light)

HOW LONG WERE THEY ON THE ARK?

According to the Bible (Genesis):
The floodwaters came January 17th.
Almost one year later on January 1st
the waters subsided and the ark landed on ground
and Noah removed the covering from the ark.
They remained on the ark until Noah received
further instructions from God:
On February 27 (26 days later)
the Lord spoke to Noah saying: "Go forth of the ark..."

"And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord;
and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl,
and offered burnt offering on the alter
."
Genesis 8:20

The only recorded and proven catastrophic event big enough to wipe out
all life on the entire earth was the Great Flood.
Science can verify there was indeed a great flood which covered the earth.
Only 1 male and 1 female of every species were spared from the great flood,
all the rest of every kind died in the flood, which explains
the fossils and bones discovered all over the world.

DID THE LAST OF THE BEHEMOTH'S
SURVIVE AFTER THE FLOOD?

BACK ON DRY LAND
(some personal speculation)

The creatures were disbursed from the ark
only 26 days after the water subsided.
The geography had completely changed after the flood,
along with the ecology and available food sources etc.

Once the pairs, male and female, were released
onto dry land off of the ark,
it is most likely that many could not procreate,
or perhaps not birth enough offspring
to reestablish their species over time.

There would have been a shortage of food for the carnivores.
There must have been many smaller creatures in which we have
never come to know of because they would have instantly become a
part of a desperate food chain at that time.

For the larger vegetarian creatures, the food source would have
been scarce and undeveloped-leaving them without the
large amounts of foliage which they would have needed to survive on.

Therefore, it is most likely that many species did not survive.

WHY WOULD GOD LET THEM DIE?

Sin is what brought death onto this earth.
And all creatures were and are effected by sin.
The flood itself was a result of sin.
The natural progression of things suggests that it is most likely
that some of the pairs of creatures, that were on the ark,
would have been unable to reestablish themselves on earth.

Animal species continue to become extinct to this day.
From mankind and the wear on the world.
The effects of sin are still at work.
This has not changed.

In the past 300 years, about 100 kinds of mammals have become extinct. Right now hundreds of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish are endangered, as well as more than 25,000 plants. The American Museum of Natural History in New York reports: "Three species become extinct every hour of every day. More than 30 species become extinct while you sleep at night. More than 20,000 species become extinct every year."

CONCLUSION
The 'behemoth' is what the world terms as the Dinosaur.
The behemoth was created in the 6 days of creation.
The behemoth walked on earth along with man up to the days of Noah.
God's own word directed that 2 of EVERY creature went aboard the ark.

Many creatures would not have survived in the struggles
of procreation after the Great Flood
but were an important part of the natural progression of things.
The conditions that they would have been challenged with after
the great flood would have led to the final end of some species.
And so I conclude that this is where the last of the behemoth's went.
